Causes of medullary nephrocalcinosis
1.Hyperparathyroidism ,
2.Medullary sponge kidney
3.Tuberculosis of the kidneys
4,Renal tubular acidosis
5.Immobilization
6.Renal papillary necrosis
7.Hypervitaminosis D
8.Sarcoidosis
9.Nephrocalcinosis
10.Hyperoxaluria
11.Miscellaneous causes-conditions assosiated with hypercalcemia and
hypocalciuria like bonymetastases, multiple myeloma, Paget disease,
Cushing disease, and both hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism
(though the incidence associated with hypothyroidism is low).
Chronic paraneoplastic hypercalcemia may also cause nephrocalcinosis.
