Inferior calcaneal spur with plantar fascitis

Patient History : c/o pain in right heel since 3 months no known comorbidities o/e tenderness over calcaneal tuberosity no deficits
Gender:Male
Age:60 Y

 
MRI RIGHT FOOT
  
OBSERVATIONS:
 
Inferior calcaneal spur is noted with marrow edema. 
Short segment approximately 23 mm linear hyper intensity seen on STIR images within the plantar fascia at the calcaneal attachment. Minimal subcutaneous edema is noted in this region. 
 
Rest of the tarsal and metatarsals show normal marrow signal changes.
 
Tarso-metatarsal and metatarso-pharyngeal joints are normal.
Intermetatarsal soft tissues are normal.
 
Cortical margins are intact.No evidence of fracture.
Extensor tendons are normal.
 
Muscles along the plantar aspect are normal.
 
 
IMPRESSION:  
 
Ø  Inferior calcaneal spur with plantar fasciitis at the calcaneal attachment and underlying marrow edema.
