Liver is normal in size, shape, attenuation and enhancement pattern. No focal lesions.
Plain Study:
Average hepatic density is 58.6 HU (Averaged from 20 sites)
Average splenic density is 44.25 HU (Averaged from 20 sites)
Liver attenuation Index is + 14.35 HU

1. Hepatic arterial anatomy
• Common hepatic artery arises from coeliac artery. It bifurcates into hepatic artery proper and GDA. Common hepatic artery measures 4 mm in length.
• LHA measures approximately 2.6mm and supply to entire left lobe of liver including segment IV.
• RHA measures approximately 3.8 mm and supply to entire right lobe of liver. Small twig arising from RHA supplying the segment IVB.
• No replaced/accessory hepatic arteries seen.
2. Portal venous anatomy
• Portal vein measures approximately 13.2 mm at confluence and 11.9mm at the level of bifurcation. It bifurcates into right and left branch at porta – Type I
• Right branch measures approximately 13.1mm in diameter and 25mm in length and supply to entire right lobe. It bifurcates into anterior (6.2mm) and posterior (6.3mm) branches at porta.
• Left branch measures approximately 10.8mm in diameter and supply to entire left lobe including segment IV.
3. Hepatic venous anatomy
• Segments 2 & 3 – LHV
• Segment 4a, 4b – LHV & MHV
• Segments 5, 8 – MHV
• Segments 6, 7 – RHV.
• Segment 6 & 7 – Also have accessory hepatic veins draining to IVC.
• LHV measures approximately 8.6mm in diameter.
• MHV measures approximately 6.3mm in diameter.
• RHV measures approximately 6.6mm in diameter.
