Cherubism is familial fibrous dysplasia of the jaw characterised by swelling of lower face.
It is inherited as an autosomal dominant trait. Usually recognized between 18 months and 2 years and then becomes stationary and regress spontaneously during puberty. It primarily mandible and occasionally maxilla.Multilocular cystic changes with asymmetric distribution in mandible and maxilla are responsible for characteristic changes in facial configuration.
